50 years after his passing, Leadbelly returns to American roots music’s centre stage with 17 tracks recently discovered and now released for the first time.

These sessions were recorded at the BBC studios in New York City in 1938 and in Salt Lake City in 1946.

Leadbelly sings Blues and yodels exciting new renditions of many of his familiar standards.

Full details of these sessions and songs can be found in the 18 page booklet included in this torrent.

Although Professor Hector Lee recorded 7 songs at his house in 1946 only 5 are on this compilation, the other 2 songs, The Gallis Pole and Bourgeois Blues remain unreleased.
