BORN FIGHTERS NICK LOWE, DAVE EDMUNDS & ROCKPILE-
Born Fighters (3rd November 1979)[Granada T.V )
Without beating about the bush, this is the tale of how Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe {2 of the UK's most respected musicians} spent a wet week at Rockpile [Edmunds recording studio} in 1979 helping each other record there respective albums ‘Seconds of Pleasure’.
1979 BBC special BORN FIGHTERS (45min.), depicting Nick Lowe / Dave Edmunds’ band Rockpile in the studio, recording songs that made it onto the albums ‘Labour of Lust’ and ‘Seconds of Pleasure’. This is a very rare look behind the scenes of one of the 70s great songwriting/producing partnerships.
At a brisk 45 minutes, Born Fighters showcases Edmunds and Lowe at their prime, in the recording studio working on both Seconds of Pleasure and Labour of Lust (the latter featuring one of Lowe’s catchier numbers, Cruel to be Kind). It’s a dazzling glimpse into the friendship between two talented musicians.
