This is a special show for me for a couple of reasons. First reason is that I went to school at Alfred University.
For this show, the audience sat on the floor of the gym while Jorma played for about 2 hours.
The tickets cost a big $2, so having to sit on the floor wasn't so bad since is so cheap!
Anyway, I had a friend who was on the school's concert committee and sometime after the concert she gave
me a soundboard of the show on cassettes. It was recorded rather poorly though with really low volume
levels and bad tape flips, but something is better than nothing! I did some volume adjustments in Soundforge
in order to make the volume consistent from track to track throughout the show. There were also some sound
problems during the show itself, which an obviously irritated Jorma mentions before the last song of the first set
'I Am The Light Of this World'; "It's supposed to be loud, you idiots!"

The second reason for this being a special show is because there aren't too many recordings circulating
of solo Jorma concerts around this time in late 1982. I really like the sound of the guitar that Jorma used
at this concert and I remember that the guitar was an electric guitar and it had a metallic blue finish.
The sound of the guitar had a lot of bass and was really funky and of course Jorma was playing through
his usual arsenal of pedals and other trippy sound effects. So I did some research on the internet and
found out that the guitar he was playing then was a Veillette-Citron guitar. (It might have been the
'Shark' baritone model, but I couldn't find any pictures of Jorma in 1982 playing this particular guitar.)
I did find a couple of websites that mention Jorma and Veillette-Citron guitars.
Here's the internet links for what I found out, just in case anyone else is interested in this shit!

I hope you like this one. Please leave me a message and let me know what you think. And it's also nice
to say 'Thanks' to the folks who take the time to upload shit on here! I noticed on Gibran50161's recent upload
of the Hot Tuna with David Bromberg DVD from Vic Theater, Chicago 1/18/86 that even though 90+ people
have downloaded it, only two folks took the time to say 'thanks' and one of them was me! It really doesn't
take much time or effort to thank the uploaders and it also encourages us to want to share more.
Sorry for getting all preachy, but just saying is all. Welcome to 2012...the year of the Tuna!
