The mighty Godfathers here for your enjoyment. I haven't seen a whole lot of Godfathers floating around and an even smaller amount of material with US origins. For those of you who treasure these guys this should be a real find as I've never circulated this show outside of a few close friends who were fans. This particular show was on a Sunday night and the turnout was pretty sparse. Chris even comments (sarcastically) that there were some very good shows on TV that night like "Married With Children" and "Totally Hidden Video" that probably kept people in their homes. Although he was obviously a little disappointed at the size of the crowd he and his mates put on a great show for those of us who were there and showed their appreciation to those who did come out. A little British vitriol goes a long way performance-wise. A couple nice covers here. I always liked their take on "Cold Turkey". Sometimes they remind me of the Screaming Blue Messiahs a bit especially on "Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues". These guys were always lumped in the alternative category so that's where I've listed them but I always thought they were pretty versatile and melded elements from pop, rock, blues, punk and even psychedelia. They have recently gotten the original lineup back together and have dates scheduled in Europe. Can any of my friends across the pond get us some material posted? Enjoy.
