A DrumJ Production
Here's my personal new remix of Sgt. Pepper. I remixed all the surfaced multitracks. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I believe that it is a huge upgrade from the EMI official CD's. I'm definately happy with how it turned out. Okay, so first off, I took each multitrack and remastered each separate one, in order to get the best out of them. No noise reduction was used whatsoever. Here's the remixing processes I did:
For the song SPLHCB, I took the main instrumental track and panned it totally to the left. Then I took the lead solo guitar track and panned it totally to the right. Then I took the vocal track and mixed into the center. I also put the audience noise/ambience track and mixed it to the center. I amplified each separate track just a tad too. I also amplified the lead guitar solo track, as I felt in the original mix that the rest of the instruments drowned it out a little. So everything now is very well balance. Vocals and instruments, I honestly don't think it gets any better.
For the song WALHFMF, I took the main instrumental (bass and tambourine for the most part) and mixed it to the center. Bass should usually, if not always be mixed to the center, as it helps tie and bring all the frequencies together coming both from left and right. Then I took the main instrumental track (drums and guitar, etc.) and panned it totally to the left. The I took the main vocal track and panned it totally to the right. Finally, I took the harmony vocal track and mixed it to the right. Again, I balanced it all out to get the best out of it. I was very please on how this track came out.
For the song SLH, I panned the harp track to the left. Then I took the cello track, and panned it to the right. I was very please how this came out - you have one string instrument coming out of one ear, and another string instrument coming out of the other. I like it. Anyways, after that, I took the first vocal track and panned that to the left. After that, I took the second vocal track and panned that to the right. I think this is track was very fun to work with, and the ending result was very nice, and I'm happy with it.
And for the last song, ADITL, I panned the guitar and strings to the left. After that I panned the piano and auxilary percussion track in the right. I also panned the vocals to the right. After that, I mixed the bass track and the percussion track into the center. This track was very complicated to remix. So many instruments, so many options. This was definately the most complicated track to remix out of the entire project, but in the end, I believe it was worth it.
