Notes

I compared the available CD versions and chose MY favorite Emitt Rhodes tracks from both the Merry-Go-Round and solo.
The entire self-titled album is included. I began this when the EMITT RHODES RECORDINGS 1969-1973 came out. I
had only made notes and later on my hard drive crashed. I found that the RECORDINGS set was more Emitt than I
needed and the other two BEST OF solo sets had a few tracks I didn't much care for.

So, I started with a fresh approach and still felt the same way about most of the tracks after I compared my old
and new notes. It's odd that my favorites fill up one 80 minute CD-R. Any other 'maybe' tracks were really just
that and I am quite satisfied with this collection. TAME THE LION really grew on me after listening to it on my
stereo.

I compared every available version of each track and then kept the best quality/sounding one of each. Some flaws
that have continued on from various CD's I tried to fix or massage or eliminate. Tasteful De-Clicking on some
things that MUST have been sourced from vinyl by the CD companies (mainly Merry-Go-Round) and a drop-out in
"MISSING YOU." Some final things I caught on one last listen (like that drop-out).

Also loud the loud thumping 'PUH' noise ("PAR-don me") as Emitt sang PARDON ME in a couple of places I 'fixed.' The
cleanest version of LULLABYE I found on the 'Royal Tenenbaums' soundtrack and still gently cleaned up a few tics.
I listened to all songs thru headphones and thru stereo speakers. I tried to distinguish between vinyl tics and
guitar playing/studio noise.

I also tastefully (and with restraint) got rid of some excess hiss/noise in some spots on SOME songs. I try to never
be heavy-handed and leave traces of what I did. I am very proud of this and some of these tracks have never sounded
this clean on CD.
