Iggy Pop
Santa Monica
Civic Auditorium
18 November 1977
EX Stereo (mixing desk?)

LP > CDR > Click Repair > Audacity > TLH > FLAC

01 Intro
02 Lust for Life
03 The Passenger
04 Nightclubbing
05 One, Two Brown Eyes

Iggy sounds worryingly unhinged at the start of this...but the band rock!

It's an unusual performance even by Iggy's standards, he does really sound on the edge
of sanity at times, rather than the 'normal' ranting or tantrums. However the audio
quality is very high, towards mixing desk standards...it's not dissimilar to the Paris
23 Sep 77 recording, an officially released show which seems to be a mixing desk recording
albeit with less clear stereo separation than this one perhaps.

The mix is very good as hinted...I have not tried any adjustments, bar correcting the balance
on One Two Brown Eyes...Iggy's vocal started off towards the left, then switched more towards
the right channel halfway through. The 'switch' was easily identifiable so I did a smooth change
that sounds undetectable to my ears.

I have been after the full performance for a while, it is listed in the back of Per Nilson's book,
The Wild One, as follows -

18 Nov Civic Auditorium - Santa Monica (70/VG)

It also mentions in the back of Per's book that Neighbourhood Threat from this show was featured
on the various artists (bootleg) LP, " Whitman's Punk Sampler".

Let's hope someone can make time to share the full show...I am seeding as much Iggy as I can, and
while I do have more, the more people make time to seed here, the more likely I am to be able to
get CD-Rs of shows I need from people who generously provide them who prefer not to seed, and then
share them too. So there is a likely payback for anyone's time in sharing even if it's not on the
wants list I put at the bottom of my torrents. So please seed or share something if you can, then
we're likely to get even more Iggy up here! :)

Until the full show turns up, enjoy this.

FANCY HEARING MORE IGGY!?

I'm keen to get hold of these...

9 April 77 Seattle Full length recording

I've checked Per Nilson's book "The Wild One" and it lists in the "Audio Tapes" section in the back -

9 Apr Paramount Theatre, Seattle (70/VG)

so someone must have it! :)

18 November 77 Santa Monica Full length Recording

The above gig is also listed in the back of Per Nilson's book too, so someone must have the full length show!
Like the Paramount Theatre show it's great quality so deserves to be heard!

How about you?

If you are after the above or any other Iggy gigs, if you find / make time to seed something that's
unusual or simply some Iggy that's not been seeded for a while, if just 1 in 20-40 downloaders did the
same there's a good chance more Iggy that you've been after could turn up!

If, like me, you've spent a lot of time combing the net for long lost Iggy recordings, think of how
something you are after could just turn up here - after someone who's got something you would like
picks up something seeded here and likes that too!

If Dime torrenting isn't your thing, there are other options...uploading through other forms, CDR by
mail etc, let's get more circulating here!
