In 1996, Joey and a different group of session musicians (including Howard Leese of Heart, if there are any Heart completists out there) recorded 4 demos of new Molland songs to shop to record companies. Bruce Hastell played guitar and offered use of his Seattle studio, but allegedly had a falling out with the Mollands and released the demos as Joey Molland's Badfinger. Kathie Molland has made it very clear (see http://badfinge.ipower.com/SoloBadfinger/JoeyMolland/TimelessEP.html) that this is an unauthorized product and claimed that Joey was ill when it was recorded. Politics aside, it's not at all bad. The early versions of 3 songs that later highlighted "This Way Up" are rough but have a good (and arguably superior) feel to them, and as for the otherwise-unreleased "It's Alright?" It's alright.
