An unbelievably rare collection of unissued recordings. Includes Jerry Lee's first recordings, done at a radio station in Louisiana in 1954.
tracks 3, 4 and 5 (at least) come from the 1965 production of "Catch My Soul".
It was a live musical play with the concept of a Rock 'n Roll approach to Shakespeare's "Othello".
Jerry played one of the lead charactors. He dyed his hair platinum blonde for the role.
The show was produced by Jack Good (Shindig producer) at the Huntington Hartford theatre on Vine Street in Hollywood. Most of the "Shindig" musicians were in the house band.
the first two songs are from an acetate that JLL recorded back in 1954. There's a couple songs from a musical version of "Othello" that JLL was involved in during the mid-sixties (Jerry took the part of Iago). Most of the rest are outtakes from the soundtracks sessions for the Quaid movie.
