This disc was a revelation when it appeared a few years ago. This was the first time Simon and Garfunkel studio outtakes had appeared in anything like this quality. Not only is the sound top notch but the contents were a revelation. At The Zoo has a set of completely different lyrics. Groundhog was never released by Simon and Garfunkel in any form.

Rumour has it that these unreleased tracks were in the CD burners at Vigotone when they got busted. Rumour also has it that Purple Chick has more S&G goodies but are not willing or able to part with them.

The live tracks are dispensible, but cute. At The Zoo was previously unbootlegged.

Finally, we have the mono album. Long sought after, this definitely contains a discrete, non-fold-down mono mix: Columbia was a union shop back in the day, and the unions made sure that stereo and mono received their own mixes.

I have taken the liberty of upgrading the mono album with Dr. Ebbett's recent needledrop. There was nothing really wrong with Purple Chick's version, but I'm sure Purple Chick will agree that the Doctor's work simply cannot be surpassed. As with the Purple Chick original, "Voices of Old People" has to be omitted for space reasons. You're not missing much - that's all it is: voices of old people.

Anyway, get this for the first twelve tracks - the rest is a bonus.
