Robyn Hitchcock with Deni Bonet
American Syndicated Radio Shows, circa 1990s
In April 2006, Robyn Hitchcock and Hux Records released "This Is The BBC", a collection of BBC sessions Robyn and company did for Andy Kershaw and Mark Radcliffe in the 1990s. Robyn was also making the rounds of American radio stations back then, including some nationwide syndicated radio programs. This is a collection of some unreleased performances from these American radio programs, sourced from Pre-FM discs (which were then saved to HiFi vhs). One might think of this as a sort of American complement to the "This Is The BBC" album; "This Is The USA", if you will.
01 Intro (Spin Radio Network, 1992)
02 It's a Man's Life (On the Edge, 1993.11)
03 Ivy (Spin Radio Network 1992)
04 Arms of Love (Acoustic Cafe 1993)
05 Wreck of the Arthur Lee (MTV Left of the Dial, Spring 1993)
06 Egyptian Cream (Acoustic Cafe 1995.7)
07 Sinister (Acoustic Cafe 1995.7)
08 Yes I Do (Spin Radio Network 1992)
09 De Chirico Street (Acoustic Cafe 1995.7)
The dates are somewhat vague since these shows were recorded live in studio days or weeks before airdate, and the airdates were somewhat flexible as well. Following is as much info as I know about each show, including whether there was an interview segment (which again, I did not save). The numbering system of the shows reflect the fact that several episodes of each program were often presented on the same disc (The disc for Spin Radio Network, for example, included episode 13 and episode 14).
