Notes:

Review about this performance from Argenteumastrum.com:

Another absolutely fabulous and exceptional show from the 1973 European Tour ... quite possibly the best Led Zeppelin tour ever!
The entire band is playing better than ever before or since, and Jimmy in particular is absolutely incendiary and beyond words.
Every song is nailed with amazing playing and Robert's voice for the most part is fairly strong and bursting with passion.
Dazed And Confused is one of the best ever and the medley is outstanding.
It is getting to be difficult to compare these European concerts ... they are all phenomenal.

Notes about the quality of this recording:

This recording is taped fairly close to the stage with very little audience noise and small hiss.
The balance is very good but a little chaotic at times and has Jonesy low in the mix.
The proximity to the stage and the high quality of the recording make for a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.

What we've done to make this project:

- We've tried to bring out the instruments that were buried in the mix of the raw recording (low end), and have tried to balance the instruments as much as possible.

- We've brought the volume down to a more reasonable level, originally the raw recording was running a little too hot, so we've brought it down to a more listenable level.

- We've tried to bring out the presence of the venue, and things that were buried in the raw recordings mix (cheers, claps, comments, etc).

In regards to the title:

For those that may not understand the titles reference, "The Ides of March" was a festive day held in Ancient Rome dedicated to the god of war "Mars" and a military parade was usually held.

There are different theories about how long the celebrations would last, some say that the festival took place on the 15th of March (a time in the Roman calendar when the moon was full), and some say that the celebration started on the 15th, and carried on until the 17th of March.

The original holiday that the Romans created has long past, but the celebration of that time of the year is still carried on today in modern times with "St.Patricks Day", the celebration of St.Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who introduced Christianity to Ireland.

Out of respect to St.Patrick and what he did, a celebration and feast are held, and all lenten privilleges can be lifted for the day.

The term "Ides of March" is also known as the date that Julius Caesar was killed in 44 B.C. Julius Caesar was stabbed (23 times) to death in the Roman Senate led by Marcus Junius Brutus, Gaius Cassius Longinus and 60 other co-conspirators.

Hope everyone here will enjoy this.

Cheers!
