Continuing in the vein of the original 4CD "Made In Canada" set, here are more examples of Canadian music history. Tracks 5, 7, 9, 12 and 16 on this volume are from CD source; the remainder are from restored from vinyl.
This edition features a pristine transfer of "Birds Of A Feather" from the direct-to-disc LP "Rough Trade Live!" on the Umbrella label. It has never been reissued in digital format, and will never be - there are no tapes of the sessions, only an album.
Nobby Clegg & The Civilians made this recording, submitted it and won a contest on CFNY-FM 102.1 in Brampton, Ontario. It was included on a sampler album of tapes by Toronto area groups, none of whom went on to become famous. I try not to let my opinions drive my commentary, but you guys *have* to hear "Essay: Me Dad." It's a shame that it's not been more widely available.
The dance remix of "Neil Young - Mr. Soul" is the version from the "Trans" album, extended and reworked, taken from the very rare "Sample And Hold" maxi-single.
