This is an alternative torrent of the Seattle 77 show. While it is direct from the LP, as opposed to the tape sourced (tape of the LP) version I shared before, to me it's a very much of an alternative rather than automatically better in my opinion. Logically, any recording direct from an LP is closer to source, however the tape sourced version is considerably better. I raised this with the Iggy
fan who kindly provided me with the direct rip from the LP, and he commented "Maybe the Iggy & Ziggy version you have was originally taped with Dolby-B/C noise reduction but played without Dolby when digitalized? That would explain the hissy & brighter sound."

There is also the possibility that different pressings of the LP, different equipment could be a factor. I doubt if there was more than one pressing of the album concerned.

Whatever the reasons for the difference in sound, I have provided a sample so you can hear the difference.

* I have also added the three encores from Birmingham 4 March 1977 in a slightly different mix, which I did in Audacity. The vocal on that recording is jarringly towards the right channel. While it's very difficult to do much about that, I did have a go at trying to change the balance of the recording for myself, and felt it was worth adding as a 'bonus' on the end of this recording, as these encores are fairly unique as they feature less on the very best recordings from this tour (ie China Girl was featured in edited form on the Cleveland FM broadcast, but not on the bootleg or official release of that show, for example).

Personally I still rate these recordings as the highest audio quality after the Chicago and Cleveland FM recordings, judging by other recordings I have heard from this tour, it is not surprising the Seattle show made it to bootleg, even in edited form.

If you download this, enjoy!!

** CAN ANYONE HELP ON THESE? **

Cleveland, Public Hall 22 September 1972 FM broadcast.

This show was recorded by WMMS and broadcast on FM a week later but the station later destroyed the tape. At least parts of this definitely exist, I have been told by a fan who knows of its existence.

If you have it, why not share? There's little money in bootlegs and archive recordings any more, and experience shows if people offer up rare shows, others follow suit. The Bowie 'market' for live recordings is said to be 'tight' by some non-fan observers (indeed, I've had mails from such collectors mentioning this), the more that share the better, I've found. When I've torrented a rare show, I've had offers of more rare things.

Why not try it?

THE EVENT OF DAVID BOWIE

3LP of Bad Segeburg 18 June 1983.

I am well aware that there was a CD version, and torrents of that and a tape version of the LP version have been shared...can someone share a direct transfer from the LP, please?

**I've been asking about the above recording for six months or more now, some Bowie fan out there must be able to help?**

How about you?

If you are after the above or any other Iggy gigs, if you find / make time to seed something that's unusual or simply some Iggy that's not been seeded for a while, if just 1 in 20-40 downloaders did the same there's a good chance more Iggy that you've been after could turn up!

If, like me, you've spent a lot of time combing the net for long lost Iggy recordings, think of how something you are after could just turn up here - after someone who's got something you would like picks up something seeded here and likes that too!

If Dime torrenting isn't your thing, there are other options...uploading through other forms, CDR by mail etc, let's get more circulating here!

Thanks for any help on any on the above shows!
