This brief EP keeps Alex Chilton's winning streak alive and well. The title track is a chunky, no-nonsense rocker with half-serious, half-waggish doomsaying lyrics about the AIDS epidemic. "Underclass" is a rambunctious blues song with ironic lyrics about being a "have not." Mi-tempo funk is explored on "Wild Kingdom"; the selection provides excellent solo chances for guitarist Chilton and saxophonist Jim Spake, both of whom prove equal to the opportunity presented. Slightly distorted sound quality tarnishes this last song a bit. This release is excellent and well worth a listen.
