Notes

Originally issued in Canada 1991 on RCA 17247
Revised and remastered at Remasters Workshop 2009

This highly collectible set was the last of only four volumes of Canadian classics and obscurities released by many licensing agreements with RCA, in a project spearheaded by legendary executive Paul White. They have been out of print since about 1992, and are very hard to find now.

After the release of this fourth volume in 1991, the project ran out of steam, and there were no further volumes of "Made In Canada." The four discs we have still stand as the best compilation of Canadian music ever made.

On the back insert, it says tracks taken from vinyl are marked with an asterisk; however, they neglected to mark any of the tracks. These are sourced from vinyl: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, all of which have been further declicked. All others are from tape source. These have been phase corrected where necessary. One track has been replaced: the version of "Chilliwack - Lonesome Mary" supplied was mono, same as on their Greatest Hits CD. But it was issued, digitally remastered, in stereo, on the very expensive, out-of-print 2001 European CD of their 1971 double album - and apparently nowhere else. That stereo version is substituted here, as it is generally unheard. It was originally folded down to mono for the single. Although Chilliwack has several singles which have different mixes from the album, this was not one of them. The mono mix may be recreated by combining the channels of this mix.
