Notes

A good collection spotlighting one of Motown's least appreciated great female groups. The Marvelettes not only gave the label its first number one pop hit, but strung together a good series of tunes, especially when Smokey Robinson was writing and producing them. They went from being a quintet to a quartet to a trio during their Motown years, but seldom failed to give an energetic performance.
