Notes:

This is one of my all time favourite Zeppelin shows, and the show/performance I've spent the most time obessing over and working on.

This release will be my third attempt/release/project of this show (the others are "King Of The Monsters", and "Ladies And Gentlemen!")

Several years ago, I started working on every version of every source of this show that's in circulation with the goal to remaster them all and put them together to make the ultimate merge + remaster of this performance.

A very lofty goal indeed since there are over 7 different tape sources of this show in circulation, the majority of the recordings in circulation are very good, but there are some that are a little more exceptional than others.

I worked on this project for an extensive period, but then eventually it was just too much to take on, and was consuming too much space in my hard drive, so I saved the work I had done on various data DVD-R's and stored them away with the idea to one day tackle the project again someday.

While doing some digging for a show I was using in a trade with a friend, I came across the DVD's of the Japan project, and started loading them into my computer and scanning over the work I had done.

To my surprise, alot of the work I had done has actually disappeared, this release should actually be the entire "First Attack Of The Rising Sun" source (the 5th tape source) remastered, but all I've been able to find is this small fragment.

I apologize for this being an incomplete project, but this is really all I could find, hopefully the missing the DVD-R's will turn up, but for now, I offer up to everyone here a sort of "Rock Carnival" fragment of my work.

What I did to make this project was reduce some of the hotness in the raw tape source, balance the instruments as much as possible, removed a decent amount of tape hiss, and tried to bring out as much of the venues acoustics as possible.

Hope everyone here will enjoy this.

Cheers!
