==About the album==

From the Apple iTunes site:

"On February 11, 1964 — just two days after their historic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show — The Beatles made history again with their first-ever live U.S. concert at the Washington Coliseum. In front of more than 7000 fans, the group performed hit after hit, including “I Saw Her Standing There,” “She Loves You,” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”

"To celebrate the release of all 13 of The Beatles’ studio albums on iTunes, we present that pivotal February 11 performance, streamed here in its entirety. And when you buy The Beatles Box Set on iTunes, you get a copy of this concert for your collection."

==About this transfer==

For this release I used the 526mb .m4v iTunes version of the concert (available at the "Green Devil") and:

- extracted the audio to a 1:1 16/44.1 .wav file
- filtered the NTSC line frequency (it was pretty unobtrusive, peaking at -66db, but was annoying nonetheless)
- added a few db gain around the 11kHz region, just to add a bit of life to an otherwise dullish frequency range
- split into separate tracks

You may ask why I have done this work when there is already a "Definitive" CD edition available. Unfortunately, the "Definitive" CD edition suffers from a number of problems. It is not in Redbook format, meaning it can't be burnt to CD without some manipulation; it contains sector boundary errors, meaning audible clicks are present between tracks; and, there is no signal above 11kHz, rendering it rather dull (the "Definitive" DVD also suffers from this problem). Had the "Definitive" edition not suffered from these problems, I'd never have bothered making mine.
