Originally issued in Canada 1990 on RCA KCD1-7158
Revised and remastered at Remasters Workshop 2009
This highly collectible set was the first of only four volumes of Canadian classics and obscurities released by many licensing agreements with RCA, in a project spearheaded by legendary executive Paul White. They have been out of print since about 1992, and are very hard to find now.
Only eight of the tracks on this disc are from tape source. All the vinyl tracks have been further declicked. Two tracks have been replaced: As with Volume 1, the recordings supplied by Randy Bachman of Guess Who material were re-engineered in fake stereo with digital delay and reverb. For this edition, "It's My Pride" has been replaced by the original mono mix from the CD "Shakin' All Over" on the Sundazed label. And "Gaslight" by The Ugly Ducklings has been replaced by a better remastering job of a better pressing.
Some of you may wonder, "a mono version of "Signs"?" There is no true stereo mix of "Signs." It has always been mono, on the original LP and the CD reissue.
