This is the last gasp of the McGuinn - Hillman Band, which was the last gasp of McGuinn, Clark & Hillman. They started out strong with a # 33 chart hit, "Don't You Write Her Off", in 1979, then it slowly went downhill from there. Clark recorded on the second album, "City", but had quit before it was released. There was a third album just entitled "The McGuinn - Hillman Band", and this is from the tour supporting that album. It was one of those rare nights where the audience and the band just fed off each other. A great show!

"The Bayou" was a legendary club in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC, located by the Potomac River, under an overhead section of the Whitehurst Freeway. It lasted into the 21st Century, but it was closed because the property was worth more as office space than a nightclub. What a loss. Many famous acts played there on their way up or down, such as U2, SRV, Dire Straits, The Pretenders, etc.

Roger McGuinn - guitar & vocals
Chris Hillman - bass & vocals
Al Perkins - steel guitar, guitar & vocals
Tom Mooney - drums
