No hiss, distortion, speed problems, etc.
I almost didn't go to this concert but decided to attend at
the last minute to tape it as a gift for my wife. Getting
a ticket a few days before the show cost me ; I ended up in
1RORC, Section L/C, Row SS, Seat 61 which IIRC was either the
last covered row or the next to last. I was pretty far from
the stage. Initially I was disappointed with this recording
but, 23 years later, it's actually not that bad. The worst
thing about the audience was the screaming/squealing teenage
girls ; the venue was packed with them. The 15 year olds are
now 38 years old & I wonder if they still squeal at concerts.
Truly obnoxious. The other odd thing about the recording is
due to my location. About half of the lyrics are hard to
decipher. If you know the songs, you'll be able to identify
the words ; if you don't, you won't.
A helpful hint for any uploaders of recordings w/ hard-to-hear
lyrics. Listen to the concert on headphones (def. this one)
several times and write down ANY phrases or sentences that you
can understand. Then google as follows: (example) bangles -
I'll do anything you want me to. You'll then get a bunch of
song lyric websites, most showing the name of the song. Pretty
good, pretty good ; pretty neat, pretty neat. I found out that
the song that contained this lyric was "In Your Room". By doing
this about 15 times, I correctly identified the song titles.
Works like a charm...
Don't avoid this show just because of some screaming teenagers
and occasionally hard-to-hear vocals. It IS complete, the
instruments are strong and it's a rare uncirculated show. It's
a document of the Bangles at the height of their popularity and
it's a nice slice of carefree 1989, if you like living in the past.
And hey, who doesn't ??? One last hilarious story and then we'll
get this show on the road: when the concert ended, I got up out
of my seat and started to leave the venue when I looked down and
saw that my microphone had come out from under my shirt and was
out in the open, swinging back & forth like a little black pendulum
for all the world to see. I just about shit my pants. Luckily,
no security was nearby so I was able to tuck everything back in
and get home with my recording intact. You had to be there to
believe it. Well, that's about all's I know so let's get this
little treasure on its way down the golden path to spiritual
enlightenment.......

this freely as this version of the show is ABSOLUTELY UNCIRCULATED.
This concert will be a welcome addition to any Bangles fan's collection.
Remember, beauty and sound quality is in the eye and ear of the
beholder. I will supply samples so you'll know what yer getting into.

PS - Love him or hate him, Ted Nugent played in concert @ the House Of Blues,
North Myrtle Beach, SC on August 4, 2012. I had been planning to go & record
him for quite some time but unexpected foot surgery made that impossible. If
you taped that show, would you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE up it on Dime so I (and
all the other fans) could hear what we missed ??? SQ is not important ; I just
want to hear the show. I will make it well worth the while of whoever uploads
that show. Thanks a lot for reading this and I hope that that show sees the
light of day here sooner or later. Wish me luck and here's hoping !!!
