It's amazing that this show has come out as nice as it is given the circumstances. For a start it was frigging LOUD, REALLY LOUD. I am amazed the mic stood up to the beating it took without distortion. The audience were VERY noisy - with past middle age drunken ladies trying to get off with Eric, and drunks standing near the front talking loudly. BUT... we were somehow in a "cone of silence" - all the people around us were silent and hardly clapped at all and as I had to turn the levels down so low, the crowd is muted. So this show is free of close noise, the crowd is all in the background, which gives it great atmosphere but it's not intrusive on the music.
Although the PA was loud, it was extremely clean, so the sound is excellent.
So I reckon this is worth having. The playing is great, especially Aynsley Dunbar and the electric violinist. Eric is very funny dealing with the drunken blondes and altogether this is a great memento of his trip down under in 2000.
