NAYTHAN HUNTER RELEASES #2
LITTLE FEAT: LOWELL'S PRIVATE CASSETTE COLLECTION (NHR#2)
History: Long after Lowell died a box containing a few cassette tapes was found in the bedroom closet of his Topanga Canyon home by Liz, his old lady. There may have been a fire involved and some of the tapes were melted(depending on who's telling the story). For a long time she left them stashed away in storage with Lowell's other things she was holding on to till the kids were old enough to appreciate them. In 1992 the tapes were given to his son, Forrest, who enlisted the help of an audio engineer friend to salvage the 20+yr old tapes. A copy of the result was passed around to family and friends. I received this copy of those copies. This history reflects the responses to inquiries I made.
Quality: Tracks 1 - 6 Very good for a conversion from melted cassettes. These are Ultrasonic Studio outtakes from 1974. Typically fabulous NHR bass response.
Tracks 7 -9 This is Live Feat in Boston 5-5-74.
I give this a weak C-, probably an audience bootleg cassette source.
Sorry, the tape had no track list and I don't know all the song's names. Track 01 is Rock'n'Roll Doctor.
Look for (NHR) in the title for my releases. I only upload .wav files to maintain quality, many directly from the original digital masters.
Coming soon...Gov't Mule's self-produced Tour Bus CD '96, and an unreleased Ray Davies fanclub recording from the 20th Century Man Tour, Alcazar Theater, SF, 1-11 May, 1996
