Notes

A most worthwhile find for the serious Who fan, comprising 27 tracks that the group recorded for the BBC between 1965 and 1970, the accent falling heavily on the 1965-67 period. Decent though not pristine sound and good performances, which usually don't deviate a great deal from the record, but are occasionally substantially different: Entwistle's bass, in particular, comes through much more strongly on some of the 1966-67 material. It also includes some unusual covers that never made their way onto official releases: "Just You And Me" (James Brown), "Man With Money" (the Everly Brothers), and "Dancing In The Streets." The 1970 version of "Shakin' All Over" may be the best take of this concert staple ever taped by the band.
