Notes:
JEMS master recording. This is an excellent sounding recording capturing Elvis Costello & the Attractions on the first night of their "Wake Up Canada" tour in November 1978. They played a "secret show" the night before at the Mocambo, which Elvis references during the late show. They played two sets this night and JEMS recorded both. The late show is torrented separately. This recording includes the first known performances of "Girls Talk" and "Tiny Steps." JEMS also taped three nights later in London, Ontario, and on November 8th in Hamilton. Those sets were recently torrented.
Another version of this recording was torrented in March 2010 with unknown lineage and missing the last two tracks. This version is a fresh 2010 transfer by JEMS from master.
Additional notes:
- tape flip during "Radio, Radio" at 0:22; about 20 seconds are missing.
- first known performance of "Girls Talk"
- first known performance of "Tiny Steps" (one of nine known performances prior to 1986)
- lovely new artwork by Colin included in torrent.
