::: Excellent quality, well-balanced soundboard. Check the samples to alleviate trepidation or to get a couple of sniffs.
::: Warts: Not many. Few unpatched drop-outs & occasional tad of distortion from overload on original master.
::: See note below regarding the fact much of the stage patter was deleted, leaving music & some brief song introductions.

Recording Information ::: mono soundboard -> unknown equipment -> master cassette -> 1st generation cassette -> 2nd generation Maxell MX-90 cassette, Dolby B? (see below).

Playback 2011-08-15 ::: 2nd generation Maxell MX-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby B off (tape was labeled Dolby B but seemed to actually be no Dolby. After careful deliberation, it was left off), azimuth & pitch adjusted, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL pro CD recorder -> CD-RW -> computer, EAC secure -> wavs -> Audacity (fades &/or glitches, dropouts, volume adjustments, no EQ) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2012-02-23.

Line-up ::: Ian Matthews - acoustic guitar, vocals // Tommy Noonis - acoustic guitar, background vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 121 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: This is one of my favorite Ian Matthews performances - superb setlist & very well played. Luckily I made 2 copies of this originally. I have an unedited complete version, with more than a half hour of Ian talking inbetween songs. While I had the tapes borrowed, I also made another copy with all the talking edited out, as I realised once at the gig, and once again upon hearing the tapes, I would never listen to the recording again - too much talk! I went to the complete version for the digital transfer, but found I had over-recorded the levels, and there was some distortion that was not on the edited copy. I promise it is a MUCH better listen anyway - lots of great music & little talk. Woulda been a great live album.

More recordings on the way, making up for years of slow netspeed. Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes & much more, & to Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Weeks, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
