Notes:

If my memory is correct here are the sources of the
tracks on this release:

Tracks 1-4 Were from Pye records singles c.1966
Track 5 - Glastonbury Fair Fundraiser 1971
Track 6 - Ziggy Stardust Outtake
Track 7-8 - Arnold Corns 1971
Track 9 Original RCA single 1971
Track 10 - Pinups Outtake
Track 11 Ziggy Stardust outtake was supposed to be on the
original album but RCA objected because there was no single
so Starman was written up and recorded to replace it
Track 12 - 7in RCA Single version
Track 13 - Live version David Live vintage

This is a near mint copy and this was the fourth play for
this unit.

This record was manufactured gapless and therefore the
track splits were done by side only. The intertrack gap(s)
were faded in order to reduce the impact of the rumble.

This was a shallow groove pressing leaving the rumble
figure high in relation to a commercial pressing. It's
almost like listening to a picture disc.

I had to be more aggressive than usual on the noise
reduction side due to the low signal to noise in spots.
I did keep all the audio intact and tried not to make any
corrections obvious.

Due to the various sources, the product is a bit uneven in
quality. The first 4 tracks were copied from 1966 vintage
45 rpm records, there are a couple of acetates as well, and
some early 1970s vinyl too. When you source sound from a
vinyl, place it on tape, and then press a second vinyl from
that tape, you literally compound the rumble component of
the recording.

I think there has been a good compromise between keeping the
feel of an unofficial release intact, while still making it
sound better than AM radio. Ultimately it will be your call
as you listen to the release.

The cover scan was sourced externally but matches
the copy presented here.

Comments:

This was a challenge to obtain a good result. Considering
the source, I think it turned out alright.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
