Little Feat Sportpark Geleen Netherlands 7 June 1976 FLAC

Audience recording: SPEED AND PITCH CORRECTED Aug 2008

IMPORTANT: this upload includes "Cold Cold Cold", a video of which was released as a bonus track on the official Rockpalast DVD. That would normally prohibit it's inclusion here, as Dime rules state:

"No torrent may distribute any official material. That term includes: Alternate recording sources of any officially released performance, unless the artist's published policy for trading permits collectors to continue trading them after another capture has been released officially"

However, note the "unless" clause in the above rule...

Little Feat's Taping and Trading Policy is here:

http://featbase.net/policy.htm

Quote:

"The trading and distribution of ALL audience recordings of Little Feat
concerts is allowed"

"If we have chosen to offer for sale a particular Little Feat performance,
this "official" version will take precedence over other soundboard
recordings and said recordings should no longer be traded, or made available
by websites, servers, or other means. In no case may any officially-released
Little Feat recording (live or studio) be duplicated or otherwise traded or
offered" (Note that this refers to soundboard recordings)

There is also a list of "not allowed shows" - all these are from year 2000 onwards and again refers to soundboard recordings.

So, Little Feat's trading policy allow the exception in the Dime rules. I've checked this with the Mods - thanks Nightshifted - and have the go-ahead to upload the show in it's entirety, providing I make clear why it is allowed.

with a comment that it is "way slow". Listen to a few seconds of the samples and you will agree. I determined that the effect of the slow speed was to make the whole show a semitone flat. (comparison with the Winterland 1976 show)

So I have speed and pitch corrected this show (Cool Edit Pro to raise the pitch by 1 semitone) and post it here as an upgrade to the version on archive.org

I am not a great fan of "crowd" tracks (01 and 11) but decided to leave this as complete as possible. You may wish, like me, to omit tracks 01 and 11 when you burn the disc. I have provided artwork for for both alternatives.

Known issues:

There was a tape flip at 7.26 in Dixie Chicken, leaving a 5s gap - I've removed the gap, so now you have a splice.

For some reason Dixie Chicken was split into 2 tracks (and not at the tape flip as you might imagine). There was a 0.5s gap at the end of part 1 and another at the beginning of part 2 - I've removed these to join the 2 parts as 1 track - the transition is not smooth but at least there is no gap. This occurs at 7.01.

There is another splice at in track 11 (I guess the taper switched off while there was no activity on stage)

Other things:

I retracked Dixie Chicken>Tripe Face Boogie; the tracks weren't split correctly.

After the tape flip, the left channel was quieter than the right so I normalised it to bring up the volume (Cool Edit Pro again)

No other equalizing "re-mastering" or tweaking was done.

Finally: I've been going through a bit of a Little Feat phase recently - I saw them in Birmingham UK on this tour - no recording of that seems to exist, in fact there is very little from that tour as far as I can see - this is the closest I can get (this show was 6 days earlier)

Enjoy!!
