Ab dem 3. Pop & Blues Festival im Oktober 1970, inzwischen fünfzehn geworden, war ich dabei. The Cream und die kurzlebige Supergroup Blind Faith hatten sich aufgelöst, und das Idol unserer letzten Realschuljahre, der Schlagzeuger Ginger Baker, trat mit seiner neuen Gruppe Airforce auf.....
.....Vorn auf der Bühne lag ein ausgehöhlter Baumstamm, auf den Ginger Baker mit zwei massiven Knüppeln eindrosch. Das mochte nicht besonders virtuos sein, aber es war etwas Ungehörtes. Was sich später zu „World Music“ entwickeln sollte, war bereits angelegt, wozu auch die exotische Zusammensetzung seiner Truppe beitrug (Baker wandte sich in jenen Jahren Nigeria zu und arbeitete u. a. mit Fela Kuti zusammen).
