(NB: Audition 1.5 was used for adjusting DC bias, editing, (incl. manual removal of clicks
and pops), adding gain, and making the cue points.
CueListTool v1.7 and Medieval CueSplitter were used for track splitting and generating

Here's my first Beatles rip.
Let me add right away that I have no ambitions of doing any more of these, as there are plenty
of quality Beatles rips out there.
But I thought this one was quite worth the efforts, as it is one of the finest sounding UK Beatles
cuts I have ever heard (plus it was requested by some of the kind folks at the bootlegzone forum).
In fact, most of those tracks have never sounded this good on any official CD release so far IMO
(and that includes the Singles Collection box).
'Hey Jude' was originally an American only compilation album by Capitol ('69),
to fill another hole in their patchy Beatles Discograhy.
However, like the Magical mystery tour album, it also served the European public quite well
as it features mostly single tracks that up to 1973 were not easily available in albumform.
In 1973 EMI UK decided to do a re-mastering of this compilation in an attempt to
upgrade the American version (the initial Capitol LP had Tr. 3 in fake stereo).
Unlike with other UK Export pressings (like Second Album, Something New
and Beatles ' 65), the sound had been massively improved upon compared to the Capitol
versions because EMI UK had used their own unprocessed low generation mastertapes.
The result was a much more dynamic, deeper and lively sounding record.
Some of you may be aware that DESS has tackled this same title recently.
However, I and others feel that his current rig has a far from flat frequency response
and this rip will give you a more accurate reproduction of the actual LP sound.
Please note: this is not a putdown of any sort. I'm not saying my rip is better, just different.
If you feel otherwise than I would like to ask you kindly not to comment in this thread.

This was transferred from an EX+ copy.
The record was professionally and carefully cleaned in three steps using Audio Intelligent’s
Enzymantic formula, Super Cleaner Formula, and Ultra pure water on a VPI 16.5
(using VPI brushes) and Nitty Gritty mini-pro 2.
I spent a lot of time manually declicking the wave file (after Click Repair had already been
applied with a medium setting) to make sure the cleanest and most natural sounding result
possible was achieved.
