His new album (the first on New Albion Records) continues to develop his ethereal multi-phonic chanting style. Two obvious differences in this album are that his Harmonic Choir does not appear with him, and that he is joined for the first time by two master percussionists — the Persian Djamchid Chemirani on the zarb (a hand drum) and the Indian Zameer Ahmed on tabla. This adds a welcome polyrhythmic element to the drone of his voice and tamboura. This album was recorded in France; parts were captured live in concert in Paris.
