This record was produced in 1984 and was only available from The Cavern Club in Liverpool to personal callers and is therefore quite rare. It is a compliation album and includes songs by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, The Fourmost, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Cilla Black and The Beatles. The EMI engineers clearly knew what they were doing as the eight Beatles tracks have the best sound of any of their releases (MFSL, Blue Box, Jap copies etc). The record was reviewed by Ken Kessler (an avid Beatles record collector) in Hi-Fi News on its release and he declared it to be astounding sound quality.
Before converting to FLAC the record was cleaned on a Loricraft Pro cleaning machine using Art du Son cleaner. It was transcribed on an SME20/2 turntable with SME V arm and Koetsu Rosewood Platinum cartridge to a Krell reference phono amp and on to a Steve Huntley modified Audio Research LS22 tube pre amp. Monitoring was via a Krell FPB400cx power amp and Wilson Benesch speakers. It was recorded at 44.1k and 16 bit depth. The tracks are fully tagged and album art is included (although not made with as much care as the recording!).
