John Cale
New York, USA
July - 27 - 1976

Audience tape of unknown generation received in a trade back in the 80's

Rec. Info:
Cassette of unknown generation -> transfer via Onkyo tapedeck TA-2330 -> Magix Music Cleaning Lab (remaster/edit) -> FLAC (44,1 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo) -> DIME
The tape starts quite distorted but after some minutes the sound gets better (all in all Vg-). The second half of the tape was higher in level so I took the level down a bit.
Not the full show This tape was obviously not on dime before.

This is quite of an oddity as I have nowhere in the net found a Cale show with this date. So I guess as with many of my tapes got in the 80's that the date
is wrong and the right dated could be the show from 20.07.76 at the Ocean Club. According to "Fear Is A Man's Best Friend (Est. 1999) is the ultimate unofficial John Cale website"
the setlist is almost indentical with the exception that the songs Gun and Pablo Picasso are in opposite order (link: http://werksman.home.xs4all.nl/cale/setlists/1976_07_20.html).
This then would be the first show of this night before the famous show from the "John Cale & Friends" bootleg which started after midnight (hence the date of that is 21.07.).
Anyway it's a very interesting show with a lot of audience talking and one of the guitarists is certainly Mick Ronson.

Tape length 40:58 min.
