Low gen tape transferred to CDR
A very good audience recording from the warrior at the edge period. Much, much better than the usual Hawkwind audience recording. The original had a few faults, mainly short gaps at the start of tracks and/or not starting at the right places.
Audience recording of Hawkwind's performance at du Montford Hall, Leicester, on 30 January 1975. The recording is sensationally good, especially for its age - rich and undistorted, and only perhaps lacking a little clarity. The show gets off to an excellent start, with the first portentous lines "We are standing on the edge of time", and a dramatic a pause, filled by someone in the crowd yelling the mot juste "Bollocks!" But they don't skip a beat, and the show proceeds in the best spacy, propulsive manner. A delight.
