August 31st 1969

The story goes that this had been complete but was damaged in a fire at the Radio Station. It was also
said to be a PA recording (but there are sporadic close up voices and applause.

Quality for most of it is Excellent and at least good enough to be a PA.

The Dutch DJ Tape.
This tape did not initially emerge in full. Over the years, more and more of it has circulated among collectors. Firstly (around 1978) there was a 4-song version, which only contained 'I threw it all Away', 'I'll be your Baby Tonight', 'Wild Mountain Thyme' and 'To Ramona'. Later an 8-song version circulated. The additional songs were 'H61 Revisited', 'Minstrel Boy', 'Mr Tambourine Man' and 'Lay Lady Lay'

Eventually an 11- song tape circulated among tape collectors. This tape seemed to be a combination of two different tapes, and contained 'H61 Revisited' twice, but for some reason was missing the originally circulated Lay, Lady Lay. The additional songs were: 'It Ain't me Babe', 'Maggies Farm', 'Quinn the Eskimo' and 'RDW # 12&35'. Additionally the tape contains an introduction to the concert. This particular version was used to make 'Bob Dylan - Isle of Wight' CD Wanted Man 1994, which explains why Lay, Lady Lay is a poor version.

Finally a few years ago a 15-song version circulated. It now seems that this tape is not genuine and all from the Dutch DJ tape, but simply the 11-song tape, with 'Lay, Lady Lay' re-instated, and the three missing tracks 'I dreamed I saw St Augustine', 'One too Many Mornings' and 'I pity the Poor Immigrant' added in from other sources.

4. 'Belle Isle' Europe 1983.
This 10" bootleg was made soon after the Dutch DJ (11 song) tape emerged. In fact the track order follows the tape order (consequently it is not in concert order). Of interest also is the snippet from the IoW press conference has been added to the start of side 2. This bootleg has only 9 tracks. It does not include 'Quinn the Eskimo' (which had been officially released) or the repeat of 'Highway 61 Revisited' (repeated on the tape).
