::: Sound quality isn't great & varies, distorted & hissy. But twas radio & surely listenable if it's yer bag. In fact, don't miss it for at least one go round as it's musically mind-ripping. Check samples for prognostication or to get yer first coupla rocks off.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

CoolSonics 104 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Piblokto! declared themselves to be warts, at least in some quarters, but this has more than I would like. Still, you can wade in the water & come out enlightened if you so choose. The interest in Pete seemed sincere, so I went diggin' around the old boxes & came up with these musically stupendous, fantastically crafted songs of far off worlds, long gone by. Certainly it should be of real fascination to those inclined, as Piblikto! is in an earlier, more original line-up here & it's more in line with the album mentality. Spent some hours on mastering, as there was some weird volume phasing from the crappy radio reception I guess. Much steadier, but still nowhere near hi-fi.

Fellow collectors all, let's hope someone out there is kind enough to upgrade this for us, in support of our eternal quest for time travel from inside our homes. What a crackin' performance & just think, likely someone has an absolutely lovely copy sittin' in their closet. To my mind this is classic Brown, peaksville. My general plan with uploading is to try not to muddy the "gen pool" & try to mainly spread my low gen tapes around. This is partly as a thank you for all the cool stuff I've gotten from others & also in the hopes of stirring the spiders in the closets & seeing if some more stuff can crawl into the light of day while someone still cares about it. I mean, if you think about it, a thousand people should write Mission Control from the Starship scene a thank you for every upload, whether they download the things or not, or are even remotely interested. Music shared directly from the bands might be self-promotion, but what more can we ask for. The Band of Heathens uploads, recent direct from the source Starship uploads & probably many others are to be lauded. In any case, back to the the "gen pool". There are some exceptions that seem like they should be made until a better thing comes along & I thought this might be one such. Not to mention that Pete wrote "Politician" sometime in the mid-1960s & sadly it is ever more relevant than ever almost 50 years on. Sad indeed.

This is a revolutionary Top Gear session. We get a ramblin' rappin' Pete on doing a full-on version his Cream-famed song "The Politician", then "Here Comes The Old Man Dressed In Flowers", a deep & heavy unreleased psychedelic number that smokes somethin' fierce, AND a live in studio outing of the hold-your-head-on-while-you-listen-so-it-doesn't-fly-away sounds of "Someone Like You" from the game changing British progressive rock spectacular that shall ever shine amongst mortals, the Piblokto! album, "Things May Come and Things May Go But the Art School Dance Goes on Forever". Listening is like waking up one morning & realising your sensory input has been exponentially improved by the new face growing on the back of your head with the second nose & pairs of eyes & ears... You are ready to explore new frontiers & Pete Brown is the captain of your spaceship.

More recordings on the way, making up for years of slow netspeed. Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes & much more, & to Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Weeks, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
