The Soft Parade has been considered by some as their least favorite doors album but it's always been one of my favorites . when the band recorded it, they were in their words trying to create their own sgt. pepper but in the process the sessions nearly destroyed the band. the songwriting credits went from being the doors to individal writers being listed because jim morrison didn't agree with some of robby krieger's lyrics especially the line "get your guns" in tell all the people. the album took nearly a year to finish and contained (to some fans horror) many overdubs with string and brass instruments. robby has said in the past that he would like to remix the album to remove the dubs and give the album a more traditional doors sound. i have attempted just that using the 5.1 surround mixes and removing or mostly burrying all the fluff. these mixes are far from perfect but it's the best i could do without access to the multitracks. i've changed the song order some and added the track "who scared you" which was a b-side recorded during the soft parade sessions. i hope you enjoy this mix ......Ghostryder14 2009
