This is an interview by phone with DJ. There is no performance, only interview.
I managed to quickly record this interview this afternoon using the only equipment I had available - my Sony clock radio and an R09! As KTCK is an AM station, the sound quality wasn't going to be that good anyway. KTCK has an FM transmitter, but it's very weak and located way outside Dallas. Even with these limitations, the sound is pretty good. There is no performance music, only interview.
KTCK is a sports talk station, so you may be wondering why they are interviewing Daniel Johnston. The BaD radio show runs a contest called the "Guest Booking League" where each member of the show crew tries to book a certain number of guests - the crew member who books the least number of guests has to pay a penalty. One of the crew members saw the "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" documentary and so decided to try to book him. The show tends to focus on niche guests or guests who are difficult or otherwise hard to reach.
