A little history about Hot Tuna & The Palladium:
This show is the very last time Hot Tuna performed at the infamous Palladium in New York City.
They first played at The Academy of Music in 1972. The Academy of Music was the name of The Palladium
prior to about 1976. The name was changed in 1976 from The Academy of Music to The Palladium.
The Palladium was a great venue and so many great bands played there over the years. I think that most
folks would agree out of all the bands who played at the the Palladium, two bands stand out from the rest:
Frank Zappa and Hot Fucking Tuna! Frank Zappa had a tradition of playing several shows during the
days leading up to and including Halloween from 1976 to 1981. Hot Tuna had a tradition of playing at
The Palladium around Thanksgiving time staring in 1973. Then they played there each Thanksgiving
weekend from 1975 to 1977. New Yorkers got treated to some of the best live music of the 1970s
thanks to Frank Zappa and Hot Tuna concerts at the Palladium. Thanks Frank! Thanks Jorma & Jack!
The Academy of music was built in 1927 and The Palladium was demolished in 1999.

My story about this show:
Sadly, I never got to see a Zappa Halloween show. I saw him many other times, but never on Halloween.
I was at one of the Hot Tuna 1977 Palladium Thanksgiving shows, but I can't remember if it was
this show on November 26th or the day before on Novembert 25th...it was probably the 11/26 show.
My older brothers and I went to both the early and late shows. I remember that because the show was so
long and let out so late, the sun was rising as we were droving home after the show. As we were driving
through the streets of Manhattan after the show, we stopped at a traffic light. There was a black limosine
stopped next to us and the back window was rolled down. We looked over and saw Jorma and Jack sitting
in the back of the limo looking rather spent after the evening's rampaging! Playing 6-7 hours of high energy
music will do that to you I guess! That and all the drinking and drugs they were doing back then!
Anyway, we rolled down our car windows and shouted the obligatory, "HOT FUCKING TUNA!"
Jack looked over and gave a big smile in return! Jorma just looked wasted!

Some specific information about this show:
I received this show in FLAC files from another Hot Tuna collector.
It's a really nice soundboard recording with a few minor audio glitches. Overall, I'd give it an A for quality!
I didn't do the transfer, but it sounds great to me. I took the FLAC files and converted them back to wav files
in order to do some adjustments on the track breaks and delete some silence gaps on a few of the songs.
I then converted the adjusted files back to FLAC level 8, checked for SBEs, and uploaded it for all to enjoy.

A little more general technical information:
For all of my torrents, I use Soundforge 10.0 Pro for any audio editing. I use Nero Wav Editor to do the track
splits for the tapes that I transferred from my collection. I like to use dbpoweramp for converting files to
various formats. Finally, I use Trader's Little Helper to check for and fix SBEs, to create fingerprint files (ffp)
and to create checksum files (md5). If anyone has any suggestions or comments that will help me improve my
uploads please tell me. I'm still very new at this and I'd appeciate any feedback.
