Howdy! (2000) Columbia Records/Epic Records
A bit of a commercial flop this one, probably due to the absence of marketing by major label Columbia who took on the band after subsidiary Creation folded. The album continues the softer sounds of Songs From Northern Britain and is a breezy summer afternoon of a record. First single, I Need Direction, is a highlight as is Norman Blake's Accidental Life and Raymond McGinley's My Uptight Life. Second single Dumb Dumb Dumb wasn't the strongest song on the album and unlike previous releases, the b-side quota was very small this time around. A personal favourite.
