The 3 LUMP CD’s feature songs written about KG after his death, songs by others that he either played on or produced or both. There's a song he co-wrote called All KInds Of People that so far, at least 6 different people have recorded and released. And some of them are hard to find. Sheryl Crow's version is on here but was never released. The others were released officially. Tina Turner, Big Mountain, John Farnham (from Australia), Susan Ashton, Anita Hegerland (Michael Oldfield's wife), Like a mini-box set that you'll never see officially, but here you will.
There's obvious stuff too like the Madonna and Michael Jackson tracks, but this collection is mainly for the new collector as an audio guide. The fanatic will already have this stuff and won't have a use for it. Maybe.
One of the most unique things on there is the Toy Matinee CD taken from a surround sound CD where all you hear is KG's voice and the drums. So you hear every little breath and wierd noise he made while recording his vocals. It's like sitting right next to him in the vocal booth in the studio. Wait till you hear the song Toy Matinee. Eerie stuff.
There's also 19 year old-KG, live with Eddie Money from the mid-80s and he takes a great piano solo. Eddie introduces him as "From San Jose, Kai Gilbert on the keyboards", (KG changed his name to Kai for awhile back then-and here's audio proof). A live recording of a KG and Jonatha Brooke duet on her very timely song War-recorded in Boulder, CO on 10-15-95.
There's also the 2 KG's cuts from the rare poetry CD called Unsung, which has KG on keyboards with a band backing up poets reading-all live in the studio-April 1996-one month before he died. There's Mike Keneally live, (at a now defunct club in Van Nuys, CA called Bourban Square), playing Shadow Self and dedicating it to KG only a week after KG died. There's an untitled track by a band called M.I.R.V. that has Brian MacLeod on drums and KG on engineering and electronically altered vocals (on LUMP I, track #5 - it's 15 minutes long). Rare scattered stuff like that and much more.
As if that's not enough, there's all of the music from the Angel 4 Undercover movie that KG wrote, played and sang. He also acted in it and had speaking parts, which are all included here as well. It's hard to tell it's him singing because he takes on a fake British Spandau Ballet accent - but it's all him. All 3 CDs are completely full 80 minute CDs-4 hours for now and there will be more later.
11. Dark Justice Soundtrack - All KG composed and played for TV show in early 90s
