Notes

Label: Laserlight
Catalog No: 12-598 through 12-602

Notes: Laserlight's budget Turtles box was released at the same time as the dual Sundazed/Repertoire offerings of the Turtles' catalog; strangely, despite being on an ostensibly budget imprint, the CD's liner notes (sadly, not included here) are easily the best of any of the series' attempts. On the sound quality front, many of the selections sound pretty similar to Sundazed's ceontemporary efforts.

Track-wise, the collection is thorough, but haphazard; all of the big hits are here, but not necessarily in any comprehensible order. Several serious obscurities get thrown in, to boot, including several Repertoire-only bonus tracks that never made it to the Sundazed discs (gems like "Can I Go On?" and "You Want to Be a Woman" certainly deserve a wider airing). While most everything else is available elsewhere, it should be pointed out that this version of "To See the Sun" runs longer than its only other digital appearance as a bonus track to Repertoire's "Turtle Soup."
