This is a straight transfer of the "Half A World Away Part One" R.E.M. (bootleg) CD.

Half of this is R.E.M.'s KCRW 3rd April 1991 radio session, the rest is made up of the Christmas singles they gave to fans from 1988 to around 1991 (ie up to just before the CD as released). As it states in the article linked to below - "From 1988 until 2011, the Athens rockers sent limited-edition Christmas packages to members of their official fanclub. "
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/aug/13/rem-release-rare-singles-charity

I have been advised that if REM gave away the singles this should be ok to upload.

I shoud add that on reading these might be released one day, particularly as a possible charity release, I did not feel comfortable about trying 'perfecting' this recording - so I did not use Click Repair for example. I believe that these 'un de-clicked' singles are a good 'taster' for any future, more complete collection.

Also with regard to the KRCW radio session, I already put a 'processed version up as a torrent here, so
I thought a 'raw' version might not be a bad idea. This CD is described as the best CD of this session in one of the REM bootleg guides - well, there is slight difference in quality between this version and the Live in USA 1991 CD, but it is just slight - so it is also a different version than the current dime torrent of the latter CD.

CD details + cover - see towards the bottom of this page
http://www.svs.com/rem/bootd1.html

Believe it or not, I have yet one more version of the radio session from another source that I am working on. If someone who is good at adding a bit of a sheen to recordings is downloading all these, I'd be interested to hear the results on this session if they had a go, once I've seeded the last version I am preparing :).

Enjoy.

WANTED

REM WANTED

Full recording of the 28th April 1991 REM / Billy Bragg / Robyn Hitchcock show - it has circulated. I love the song Wild Mountain Thyme and Dark End of the Street, for instance, and would love to hear what Robyn Hitchcock and Billy Bragg did with them here, for example.

Any REM live 1991 high quality recordings not featured in the recent run on Zomb (incidentally I am working on a video sourced Unplugged and one other 1991 torrent too).

Looking for IGGY POP

There are a few Iggy items I am after - particularly from 1987, and I am sure some here may have these, and hope someone can help...I have done my best to reduce the list to those that I feel are likely to be the best, in terms of sound and performance quality. More details follow further below, but first...

********** Sick of You in 1987 **********

According to the very useful 'Setlist.FM' website (http://www.setlist.fm/stats/iggy-pop-43d6b7eb.html), Iggy performed 'Sick of You' 5 times (though they missed off one - the Bristol one, which makes it 6 times) in 1987.

It was a great performance, judging by those I have heard so far. I am keen to collect them all, and have the Bristol, Lorelei and Munich performances so far - I would be very grateful if anyone here could share the Hannover or Hamburg 1987 shows (the latter was shared by Arcorman on Dime back in 2007) - or simply Sick of You (and perhaps Sixteen, Dirt and Down on the Street) from these shows if your time is at a premium or you do not have the complete shows - happy to receive these in any form you like (torrent, upload, disc by snailmail - just *not* mp3 though please).

REVISED Iggy 'WANTS' LIST

I've scaled this down a bit as clearly the amount of people interested in non Stooges Iggy has decreased over the last few years judging by the amount of downloads, and perhaps some of the 'scaled down' wants below someone might be able to help on. I lost certain concerts in hard drive crashes, you might have had one too, so hope you can help if possible...

Iggy's winter-spring 1980 tour

New Orleans 18.02.80
Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, 18.03.80
Stadio, Florence 11.05.80

Iggy's 1986 tour

Zurich 12 Dec 1986 (tape version...I now have the version that was shared on a blog. It runs fast, but is repairable...any alternative version - not mp3, and not from the Swinging Pig CD still of interest though).

Iggy's 1987 tour

Cry For Love, Fire Girl * - Fenders Ballroom, Longbeach 23 Feb 1987
Sick of You* - Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, 15th June, 1987
Sick of You* - Hannover 8 July 1987
Sick of You* - Stadtpark, Hamburg, Germany, 12th July 1987

*also Dirt, Down on the Street, and Sixteen from the above gigs if possible too.
