The Box Tops Center Stage at The World Trade Center, July 17, 2001

Source: Sony Minidisc MZ-R55 > my hard drive > cool edit pro > WAV > FLAC Frontend Level 8 > FLAC

The first of two Box Tops sets performed that day at the now defunct (see 9/11) Center Stage at The World Trade Center Plaza. Alex, Bill and the boys are in top form and are joined by the Memphis Horns for a relatively short, but sweet set. Featuring tunes from their back catalogue as well as their only new song in nearly 32 years "Last Laugh" they are loose and have a full, lunchtime crowd before them. Captured on a warm and sunny July afternoon this was one of two final performances they would do there and have yet to come back to the East Coast since.

On a brighter note the band will be performing at the 2009 Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival this coming May 3, 2009.
