Notes

TELEVISION, Paris-Fr Olympia, 1977 june 7th, audience UPGRADE

Contrast clause :
A version of this show is sill here : http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=467911
It's a resseed from a Lyon Tapes Collection's post, made years ago.
In this upload, Lolive said : "Lineage : Audience recording (unknown generation)".
Satisfaction was listed as N° 9, but not in the torrent.

Under the ressed made by jokingman, Igemo wrote :
"correction :
01. See No Evil
02. Venus
03. Elevation
04. Foxhole
05. Little Johnny Jewel
06. Friction
07. Knockin' On Heaven's Door
08. Marquee Moon
09. Marquee Moon (end)

Which makes me wonder if Satisfaction was played as an encore...?
And imho the tape runs quite fast."

This is an upgrade because :
- taper and gear are identified,
- the generation is known (the tape i used is from second gen),
- Marquee Moon is uncut,
- the pitch is adjusted
- the show is now complete as the encore, "Satisfaction", is now torrented.

Now, the little story about this recording.
I was at the Olympia theatre on 1977 june 7th and seeing TV was a blast because the power
of this new music (and also the power of the sound level : i never attended a show so loud after this one !).
I did a mediocre recording using poor equipment and managed to get 2 other sources.
The best came from the then famous french taper GD, who used an Uher reel machine and a couple of Senheiser mics.
As usually he sent me a shity kind of cassette (poor shell, poor tape)...
And as usually, i did a copy of this on a Sony chrome cassette with a TEAC recorder (a very dynamic machine).
The 1st gen tape i got is not in good condition now, i gave it to my friend finkployd49 for duplication on a Nak Dragon machine, but his equipment is down at the moment.
So, the best quality i have is this 2d generation Sony tape i saved long time ago (i think the sound on the original tape is 50 % lost).
I'm sure my recording is from the same source than what was posted here before (same sound problems at the very begining).

Cassette played on Marantz SD4061 deck to ZOOM H4, wav to PC, Audacity (volume and tracks) , FLAC (TLH).

The band :
Tom Verlaine, vocals, guitar
Richard Lloyd, guitar
Fred Smith, bass, vocals
Billy Ficca, drums
