**Contrast clause: this is a speed corrected version of the May 31st show of my Nov. 2009 upload torrent #275008 (which is still up, currently).**

CD 2: 2nd or 3rd gen. audience tape>DAT>CD-R>EAC> FLAC (level 8)>Bit Torrent >DIME>youhoo!

Sound quality 3(out of 6)/vg

Sample: „Train Kept A-Rollin'“ (speed corrected)

Corrections and additions for this torrent:

1) Fellow Dimers grittys and kingrue pointed out back then that the show sounded slow. I compared and adjusted „Train Kept A-Rollin'“ from the May 31 show with the official live version from „Live Yardbirds“. The show indeed needed a speeding-up by 7% which I did with Audacity.

**NOTE** that the (otherwise lesser sounding) June 1st show needed no speed adjustment though it sure was recorded with the same equipment and by the same taper - no idea why, maybe that slowing down stems from an analog-to-analog copy process.

Aside of the show sounding mich „righter“ and (a bit) „brighter“ now, another BIG advantage of the speed correction is that the whole May 31st show now fits on one CD (with some 17 seconds of audience noise at the beginning and the end of track #14 edited out to avoid necessary overburning). So we can finally listed to this great show in one go – ha, I've ALWAYS wanted to do that!! :-)

2) Grittys also noted that my copy can't be a 2nd gen. copy but must be a 3rd at the lowest. Since we can't make sure I left that open in my lineage info (see above).

3) Furthermore, Grittys informed us who the taper was, one Dave Cole (with a little help of his girl-friend and unborn baby, haha! - see below for background info).

4) Fellow member rovalle pointed out that the show took place at the Shrine Exposition Hall, not at the adjactent Shrine Auditorium like the old „LAST RAVE-AP IN LA“ vinyl bootleg box falsely claimed. I have a scan of the original concert poster for this show which proves that.

Thanks a lot to everybody for their info to my original torrent, hints and corrections which all enabled me to post this much improved and better documented upload.

Please note, that this torrent is NOT from the old 1979/1980 „LAST RAVE-UP IN LA“ triple vinyl album bootleg box or any other bootleg CDs but from a 2nd or 3rd. gen. off-the-master source. The first night’s show was taped in total, the second night obviously only partially.

I also still have the vinyl bootleg which was one of my earliest unofficial collectibles in my collection, and cost me a fortune when I purchased it in Dec. 1980. Never regretted it, though. FYI, for their release, the bootleggers wisely replaced the aborted “New York City Blues” from the 1st night with the version from the second, and added two tracks from the 2nd night that were not played on the first night (I AIN’T DONE WRONG and OVER UNDER SIDEWAYS DOWN).

Legend has it that the taper had his then pregnant girl-friend smuggle his tape machine into the venue underneath her wide skirt. Cool – well done, baby (both of you!). The taper is reputed to have entered serious music business, later.

The sound quality has long been known as pretty rough (to say the least), but this here is as good as it gets I think, and better at least than the numerous the bootlegs that were all made from higher generation copies.

I’ve always enjoyed the official “Live Yardbirds” album but these recordings here show what this band were really capable of when they could really stretch out, even on the eve of their demise.

And now again for something completely different (yo, sure!):
Uploaded to Dimeadozen by DocDondy on Helloween/October 31, 2011 with **many** thanks to the original taper, Dave Cole from California.

NOT FOR FRIGGING SALE – for trading and sharing only. Don't be an arseh*le and try to make a few dirty bucks from this freely shared show, OK? And yes, that means especially again you, Sh*tyoda F*ckords. But we all know you will of course ignore my plea again since you are a f*cker.

DO NOT spread a version of this otherwise untouched upload if you fumbled on it (i.e. if you felt you had to „remaster“, tinker or doctor on it). Do that for your private joy and pass on the innocent version. And please don't pollute the pool by passing on lossy versions, OK? Deal?? Well, we'll see...

It would be nice and much appreciated if someone with the skills felt like making some nice cover artwork...

Enjoy “Four Very Live Yardbirds” !
