Notes:
This was a special show. First of all, it's Iain Matthews of Matthews Southern Comfort
and Fairport Convention fame playing a rare duo gig accompanied by Philadelphia guitar
virtuoso Jim Fogarty. They play a generous two sets spanning Iain's career, with some choice
covers and a few excellent new songs from his forthcoming album, The Art of Obscurity.
This show is a must for Iain Matthews fans. He's never sounded better, or written better
songs. And since he's been living in Holland for the last dozen years or so, it's a rare
treat to see him in the states.

And did we mention that this show takes place in a Bethesda, Maryland condominium community
room- complete with sofas, a table of free snacks, a fridge full of soda, and 35 lucky fans?
A bit like having a concert in your living room. You couldn't dream this up. The guy who did
dream it up is Bill Martin, Iain's friend and promoter, who lives in the condo complex and
asked Iain to stop by and play. Thank you Bill. Concerts should all be like this.

Sonically, this recording is all you would expect considering it was recorded from one sofa
back from the performer. It sounds great. We'll put some samples up. Hope you enjoy it.
