THE GUESS WHO
LIVE AT GROVE CITY COLLEGE (now UNIVERSITY)
1970 (SHARE THE LAND) TOUR
I used a cheap mono cassette recorder and sat
to the right side of the stage (stage left)
in about the 2nd row..I used a WESTERN AUTO
120 MINUTE cassette and recorded the entire show.
However, I had to turn the cassette over during
an amazing long version of AMERICAN WOMAN. I also
got the encore which I believe was NO TIME. I was a
poor high school student so that was all I could afford.
The following year I went to see my favorite group of
the time GLASS HARP (and they are STILL my favorite group!)
and needed a tape, so I used the second side of this
GUESS WHO tape to record them, erasing the end of
AMERICAN WOMAN and NO TIME... Wishing now it wasn't so,
but it is what it is.. Here is the first hour of the
concert directly from the 42 year old master cassette.
I have never transferred it to digital because I remembered
it being really a horrible recording. But after listening
to it now, it really isn't as bad as I had remembered.
(I'm very picky, but this is pretty historic with
Randy just leaving the band at the time) I transferred it
into SOUNDFORGE, did the edits and then to FLAC.. It's
old, but it's cool.. Enjoy!

I went with a friend and there was a couple sitting
beside us who went to the college.(You can hear the
woman talk at a couple of times during the concert.
She has a Boston accent and says of Burton that he
"is ugly as sin"!!!!)
