EDITING NOTES:
I'd like to start off by stating that this is NOT meant to be considered a replacement for the original recording or a definitive upgrade or anything of that matter. I made some adjustments that I thought necessary and decided to share this adjusted version for those who are interested. There should be samples to compare the original with this version nonetheless.
The adjustments mentioned include a moderate equalization of the frequency response. As is expected, an audience recording of an audience recording as good as it is, will likely have some unclear frequency ranges. The original recording has to be quite spectacular considering the quality of the audience dub of the broadcast. There is a fairly clear instrument mix, much more balanced and defined than any other live bootleg recording of Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett.
The vocals are distant and at times barely audible which leaves you thinking perhaps this was typical of earlier Pink Floyd shows and not a fault of poor audience recordings. No other audience recording from the period contains loud or even moderately audible vocals. I would like to bring the vocals up here somehow but such an effort would undoubtedly ruin the recordings overall frequency response. Nonetheless, I thought there was a crispness lacking in the original taping and thus made some adjustments to bright out the higher notes of the guitar, organ and mostly cymbals, which I personally think sound a fair bit more accurate now.
Take it or leave it, choose for yourself!
